Lynette Su Mien Tay, Ph.D.
Dr. Tay obtained her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Saint Louis University (Missouri, USA) and completed her pre-doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships in clinical child psychology at the Yale Child Study Center (Connecticut, USA). Subsequently, Dr. Tay joined the psychology section at the Yale Child Study Center as a faculty member from 2003-2007, where she served as a Consultant Psychologist to the Yale-New Haven Hospital Pediatric Pain Service and the Yale School of Medicine Craniofacial Center, providing direct psychological services to patients as well as supervising psychology and psychiatry interns.
Dr. Tay relocated to Singapore in 2007 to join the National University of Singapore (NUS) as an Assistant Professor with joint appointments in the Departments of Psychology and Psychological Medicine. During her tenure at NUS, Dr. Tay developed psychological services and clinical research related to children with chronic illness. She was also integral to the development of Singapore’s first post-graduate training programs in clinical psychology, including serving as Co-Director of the NUS Clinical Psychology Programmes from 2010-2011. Since arriving in Singapore, she has also been invited to provide professional leadership by various organizations, and has served on the Credentials Evaluation Panel for Psychologists (commissioned by the Singapore Ministry of Health) and the Family Court Services Expert Panel (commissioned by the Singapore Subordinate Courts). Dr. Tay is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (APA Division 53). Since 2012, Dr. Tay has chosen to dedicate her professional effort and focus solely on clinical practice. While she is currently based in Singapore, she has worked with children and families all around the world.
